This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, what we do with it, and the rights you have in relation to it. We have written it to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The information we collect
We collect only what we need in order to respond to you and to run this website.
- Information you give us. When you use the contact form, request a consultation, or download a compliance checklist, we collect the details you enter typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, industry and whatever you choose to tell us about your matter.
- Compliance questionnaire answers. If you use the Start-Up Compliance tool, your answers are stored in your own browser so you can resume. They are only transmitted to us if you submit the download form.
- Technical information. Standard information generated when you visit any website, such as your browser type and pages viewed. Where analytics are used, this is described in our Cookie Policy and is subject to your choice.
Please do not send us confidential documents or sensitive personal details in a first enquiry. We will tell you when we are able to receive them.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide legal services. Our basis is the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
- To send you a compliance checklist you asked for. Our basis is your consent, or performance of your request.
- To meet our own legal and regulatory obligations, including conflict checks and record keeping. Our basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
- To operate, secure and improve this website. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a functioning and secure site, balanced against your interests.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your details for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where it is necessary:

- With your consent, or on your instructions, in the course of acting for you.

How long we keep it
